Annerin Productions, presents Rock the Nation, April 4 at The Arena at TD Place – a celebration of Canadian music. Tickets on sale Friday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. starting at $49.50.
“2017 is going to be a special year in Ottawa celebrating Canadiana and Rock the Nation will be a testament to several decades of Canadian music celebrating our Canadian music icons,” said Mike Cerha, VP of Venues and Entertainment at TD Place.
Touring across Canada in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday, “Rock the Nation” is a celebration of over thirty years of Canadian music. Songs that inspired us, songs that moved us, comforted us and challenged us. It’s the soundtrack to a generation and a musical reflection of a country that was coming of age, a nation intent on building its own unique identity in a rapidly changing world.
An original version of the show, then called Oh Canada – What a Feeling ran in Toronto in 2015 for two weeks at the Princess of Wales Theatre where the audience response was overwhelming. Now with a new show, this rousing, multimedia theatrical production celebrates and honours Canada’s remarkable musical legacy, which shines brightly at home but has also put the country in the spotlight on the international stage. Against a backdrop of historical and musical imagery, which brings the various eras alive, the stage resounds with the performances of the songs which became the soundtrack of our lives and times.
Rock the Nation is the brainchild of Calgary based Annerin Productions, the producers of RAIN, Let It Be and The Pink Floyd Experience. The show features a live band and tribute singers, who spirit the audience away on an exciting and educational journey showcasing songs made famous by our Canadian music legends.
Experience it all live on stage, as we take a journey from the 60’s to the 80’s featuring the songs and music made famous by Paul Anka, The Guess Who, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, April Wine, Loverboy, K.D Lang, Tom Cochrane and so many more. Come see for yourself how our nation, our artists, and our music were influenced by the changing world.
Tickets are prices at $49.50, $59.40 and $69.50 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at TDPlace.ca, by calling 613.232.6767 X1 or in person at The Box Office at TD Place.
