Operations Supervisor

Lieu: Ottawa, Ontario

As a member of the Operations Team, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the set-up TD Place’s arena and stadium for a variety of events and manages the operations staff in completing projects related to maintenance to help insure proper and safe operation of the facility on a daily basis.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the set-up the stadium and arena for a variety of events.
  • Coordinate various projects related to facility maintenance, upgrades, etc.
  • Develop conversion plans with event operations staff, based on event requirements and ensures completion of tasks in tight time frames.
  • Identification of personnel issues and developing possible solutions to such issues. 
  • Document damaged or needed equipment repairs, as well as informing facilities management and appropriate personnel so that repairs can be appropriately scheduled; acts as troubleshooter for minor repairs as needed.
  • Ensure storage warehouses are properly organized on a nightly basis, and all department inventory (i.e. tools, hardware, etc.) is accounted for.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with department staff, and completes appropriate documentation for submission.
  • Assist in hiring appropriate staff. 
  • Maintain the highest level of expectations, quality control, and attention to detail required by the facility, as well as all tenants of the building and customers whom use the arena and other facilities throughout the building.
  • Participate in the physical tasks of conversion and other projects along with the operations conversion crew.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

What’s needed:

  • High school diploma with five (5) years of conversion experience;
  • Three (3) years of management experience;
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and standards such as workplace health and safety;
  • Able to read blueprints, drawings and specifications;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and with tact and to prepare accurate reports and documents on activities;
  • Self-motivated, energetic team player able to deal with an extremely fast paced environment;
  • Sound organizational, coordinating, time-management, and personal interface skills;
  • Familiarity with football, soccer, hockey and events requirements;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Flexibility with work schedule- nights, weekends, and holidays;
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Supervisor, Public Safety

Lieu: Ottawa, Ontario

Our Public Safety Team is looking for a Full-Time Supervisor who can manage and maintain emergency response throughout TD Place Stadium and Lansdowne Public Realm.  

This team member will be responsible for providing a supervisory presence over the Public Safety department. This position will manage and maintain emergency response throughout TD Place Stadium and Lansdowne Public Realm. This role works a rotational schedule to provide 24/7 coverage. The schedule covers the entire year, including days, evenings, overnights and holidays.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee service delivery of security contract
  • Respond to security incidents throughout the Stadium as primary investigator to any major incident including initial investigation, reporting, communicating details of incident and liaising with key stakeholders and emergency services (as required)
  • Assign security team audits, supervise completion and verify results. Communicate and log details of audits to track trends and patterns
  • Oversee completion of daily tasks including but not limited to: unlocking & locking building, patrol routes, issuance of visitor and contractor passes, requests for security assistance, building lighting
  • Direct security and building staff response in the event of an emergency. Act in primary security role until relieved by senior team member
  • Responsible for managing specifically assigned projects, including first-aid, fire equipment, access control hardware, security and video systems
  • Ensure all personnel have access and use required safety equipment
  • Oversee completion of incident reports and daily reporting structures to share information with the appropriate stakeholders
  • Track and maintain logs outlining shift occurrences. Oversee logs completed by staff members throughout shifts
  • Monitor event orders and facility rentals to provide effective service to guests and clients
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What’s needed:

  • A diploma in a relevant field or acceptable combination of experience and equivalent skills required;
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience working in a security leadership role directly supervising staff;
  • Holds a current Ontario Security Guard license;
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal;
  • Strong computer literacy, experience in operating security systems;
  • Able to work under pressure while providing great customer care;
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, able to walk long distances and climb multiple stairs
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Bilingualism an asset

Brand & Product Marketing Manager (12 month Term)

Lieu: Ottawa, Ontario

Our Brand & Business Development team is looking for a Brand & Product Marketing Manager for a 12-month contract with a possible extension.

This team member will be responsible for driving interest and consumer demand for all brands (REDBLACKS, 67’s, Fury FC, TD Place, Lansdowne Live) and products that ultimately support revenue objectives.  This position will bridge the link between the products and rest of the marketing team.  They will have a big picture mentality with a holistic view of the industry and future market developments.  This candidate needs to own the go to market strategy and enable successful product launches by working across teams including our growth hackers, sales, ticket operations, communications, partnerships and events.  

What you’ll do:

  • Act as brand champion and work with a dynamic cross function team to drive engagement, interest and demand. 
  • Ensure that story and strategy remain aligned by ensuring content meshes well with products we are selling, including but not limited to tickets and merchandise.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with key media partners, including Agency of Record.
  • Build campaigns and collateral that drive awareness and demand for all OSEG brands.
  • Oversee media planning for all brands in multiple communication channels.
  • Act as innovator and be part of idea process for new strategies, tactics and technology that better engage all fans for all brands. 
  • Provide evaluation of projects/campaigns so key learnings can be applied to future tasks.
  • Identify and help sell-through incremental campaign opportunities to the various properties that help them achieve the most efficient returns and results. 
  • Ability to navigate a portfolio of brands within OSEG, gain an understanding of their unique brand elements and build/strengthen relationships with essential stakeholders.
  • Assign priority sequence, communicates needs to colleagues within the marketing department and ensures requests are completed on time/budget.
  • Assist in communicating new initiatives to the organization to promote awareness and ensure buy-in.

What’s needed:

  • Post-Secondary degree; strong preference for business focus
  • 4-6 years marketing experience in sports/entertainment industry
  • Management experience is required
  • Advanced written and presentation communication skills
  • Proven understanding and expertise in brand strategy as well as the social/digital space and how it integrates with wider marketing mix
  • Experience building marketing campaign strategies and execution
  • Possess an understanding of managing the creative process of artwork development

Events Coordinator

Audio Visual Technician

Lieu: Ottawa, Ontario

The A/V technician will ensure setup and tear down of broadcast A/V equipment and patching on live event days and provide support during live events for the Stadium, Arena and broadcasters.  Ongoing responsibilities include regular maintenance on all A/V and broadcast equipment including video board, audio and broadcast systems throughout the Stadium, planning for equipment life cycle replacement and leading improvement projects.

The perfect person will:

  • Work with various parties to ensure smooth setup of A/V systems before and during events
  • Ensure integration of Stadium and Arena systems with broadcast providers covering events
  • Ensure all A/V requirements for media covering Stadium/Arena events are provided
  • Provide hands-on game-day support for all in-house technical systems during events
  • Maintain effective working relationships with broadcasters, staff and venue production teams with a focus on excellent customer service and venue system technical expertise
  • Assist with general IT networking systems that integrate with A/V systems such as Cisco Stadium Vision, IPTV and IP Networking
  • Responsible for OES game clock data functionality, testing, repair and distribution
  • Perform system maintenance, upgrades and improvements on non-event days across the entire A/V scope of systems
  • Setting up broadcast cameras
  • Service, test and repair LED digital signage and work with vendor support
  • Supervision of part time AV staff during events
  • Other duties as assigned by management

What’s Needed?:

  • Degree or diploma in relevant field or acceptable combination of skills and experience
  • 7-10 years of operational experience of A/V systems during a broad range of live events such as national sporting events, press conferences, concerts, corporate AV and other live entertainment
  • Advanced understanding and troubleshooting of complex A/V equipment and systems
  • Experience integrating A/V systems with broadcast media systems and streaming devices
  • Experience with QSC Q-SYS audio DSP system
  • Working knowledge of RS-232 and RS-485 serial data communication equipment
  • General IT networking and computer skills are a strong asset
  • Able to operate complex digital audio mixing consoles and broadcast video switchers
  • Able to work in a high pressure, tight deadline environment
  • Strong customer service abilities, work ethic and positive attitude
  • Significant memory and physically demanding work required
  • Ability to work outside regular hours as needed which may include weekends and holidays as required by event schedule

Part-Time Operations Crew

Lieu: Ottawa, ON

Operations Crew Needed!

  • Status: Seasonal Part-Time
  • Rate of Pay: $15.25 per hour

Reporting into TD Place Operations, you are a member of the conversion/changeover crew. Duties required converting the arena from hockey mode, to concert, or other event modes (and back) and converting the stadium from football mode to soccer mode, to concert or other event modes (and back). In addition, you will ensure that any event preparation/setup required for shows or sporting events are to run safely and efficiently.

    • Set up and tear down of materials for events like tables, flooring, stage, chairs etc.
    • Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for event needs.
    • Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other PPE at all times required.
    • Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Stadium:
    • Converting stadium for event set-ups as needed.
    • Set up and tear down of materials for events like goal nets and posts, fencing, signage etc.
    • Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for outdoor event needs.
    • Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other PPE at all times required.
    • Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
    • Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
    • Any labour experience is an asset.
    • MUST have CSA approved steel toe work boots.
    • Must have G Classed Driver’s License if driving a motorized vehicle on-site.
    • Ability to do heavy lifting and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Demonstrate familiarity with tools and maintenance equipment.
    • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
    • Ability to work varied schedule including days, evenings, overnights and weekends.
  • Working Conditions
    • Work requires significant physical effort, walking (including stairs), and lifting heavy weights.
    • Work requires utilizing tools and equipment that could cause physical injury if not handled and operated following safety practices and procedures.
    • Required to follow WHMIS and provincial Health and Safety requirements.

Account Manager, New Business

Job Summary

  • Be responsible for generating revenue through the sale of premium seats, corporate properties, season seats and group ticket packages for all three sports teams
  • Initiate aggressive outbound activity, generate new business leads, and establish working relationships that deliver results with:
  • Businesses and Corporations
  • Former customers
  • Existing customers
  • Manage a small book of strategic accounts relating to their assigned industry or group of industries. Cross sell, upsell, and gain renewal commitments
  • Go above and beyond by building relationships and ensuring that each customer receives the value they expect from OSEG
  • Record all activity and sales pipeline details in the CRM system
  • Represent the three teams at local business events
  • Participate and contribute to sales team meetings and training sessions
  • Be an ambassador for OSEG, TD Place, and Lansdowne Live
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-Secondary degree preferred – strong preference for business focus.

OSEG Foundation 50/50 Seller

Lieu: Ottawa, Ontario

Inspiring the next generation of athletes through the power of sports.  At the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG), we believe that all children in our community should have access to sports and the opportunity to learn and develop.  That’s why we have established the OSEG Foundation.  

Together, with our coaches and players from the Ottawa REDBLACKS, Ottawa 67’s and Ottawa Fury FC – the OSEG Foundation will invest in local programs and initiatives that get more kids off the sidelines and into the game.

Job Summary

The OSEG Foundation is looking to hire high-energy motivated sellers to join our 50/50 Electronic Raffle sales team. 50/50 raffles take place at all REDBLACKS home games, where one lucky winner receives 50% of the jackpot and the remaining 50% is directed to the OSEG Foundation to support ongoing charitable efforts.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Actively sell, handle and distribute 50/50 tickets within TD Place either at a stationary kiosk or as a roaming sales representative during and prior to REDBLACKS home games.
  • Effectively engage REDBLACKS fans with the 50/50 raffle and the OSEG Foundation
  • Effectively meet and exceed sales goals
  • Accurately reconcile sales with cash receipts
  • Clearly communicate with customers
  • Answer general inquiries about 50/50 program
  • Embody the OSEG mantra of One Team, One Vision

Qualifications and Skills

 

  •  Excellent communication with an enthusiastic and professional attitude
  •  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a large crowd/fan base
  •  Previous sales experience an asset
  •  Genuine enthusiasm for community involvement within the sports and entertainment sector.
  •  Cash management experience is an asset
  •  Must be at least 18 years of age
  •  Ability to work evenings and weekends and holidays (as required)

Part-Time Mascots / Mascottes

Lieu: Ottawa, Ontario

Performing as Big Joe, Sparky or Riley, you will bring energy and enthusiasm to our events by entertaining our guests. Mascots will be expected to perform at pre and post events as well as during events both onsite at TD Place and offsite at various events within the community.
