Conversion Team Member (Part-Time)

Location: Ottawa, ON

 

Reporting into TD Place Operations, you are a member of the conversion/changeover crew. Duties required converting the arena from hockey mode, to concert, or other event modes (and back) and converting the stadium from football mode to soccer mode, to concert or other event modes (and back). In addition, you will ensure that any event preparation/setup required for shows or sporting events are to run safely and efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities

Arena:

  • Converting arena for event set-ups as needed.
  • Set up and tear down of materials for events like tables, flooring, stage, chairs etc.
  • Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for event needs.
  • Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other PPE at all times required.
  • Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Stadium:

  • Converting stadium for event set-ups as needed.
  • Set up and tear down of materials for events like goal nets and posts, fencing, signage etc.
  • Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for outdoor event needs.
  • Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other PPE at all times required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Any labour experience is an asset.
  • MUST have CSA approved steel toe work boots.
  • Ability to do heavy lifting and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
  • Ability to work varied schedule including days, evenings, overnights and weekends.

Working Conditions

  • Work requires significant physical effort, walking (including stairs), and lifting heavy weights.
  • Work requires utilizing tools and equipment that could cause physical injury if not handled and operated following safety practices and procedures.
  • Required to follow WHMIS and provincial Health and Safety requirements.

Part-Time Ushers/Placeurs

Ticket Takers/ Ushers:

CHEERS!! The Ticket Taker/Usher will work games and events at TD Place to ensure that each and every fan has an exceptional experience! The Ticket Taker/Usher will assist guests with entering the stadium and arena, guides and directs guests to designated sections and addresses any concerns or inquiries. Customer service and communication skills are essential to this position as well as the ability to deal with large crowds. Ticket Takers/ Ushers will be expected to stand for long periods of time.

This position requires 100% availability for all games on the following dates:

  • Friday, September 23 from 5:15pm to approximately 11:00pm
  • Saturday, October 1 – Panda Game from 11:00am to approximately 4:30pm
  • Friday, October 7 from 5:15pm to approximately 11:00pm
  • Friday, October 21 from 5:15pm to approximately 11:00pm
  • Sunday, November 4 from 5:15pm to approximately 11:00pm

Must be available to work shifts starting as early as 4:30pm on game days. Previous relevant ushering experience or a combination of enthusiasm and customer service experience is preferred.

Store Manager

Location: Ottawa, ON

Reporting to the VP, Partnerships and Merchandise Sales, the Store Manager will be responsible for providing sales and personnel leadership for the OSEG Team Shop at TD Place.

Duties & Responsibilities

Revenue Generation:

  • Maximize daily team store revenue, implore customer service levels, restock levels, and provide excellent merchandising techniques to achieve daily sales goals.
  • Maximize event sales. Utilize all resources to exceed revenue goals at all athletic events.
  • Follow all customer service guidelines; use creative merchandising techniques in the presentation of product; and constantly keep product levels filled, restocked, and rotating to ensure sales are being maximized.
  • Assume responsibility for accuracy of all cash management and ensure that shrink control within store is minimized.

Staffing:

  • Manage and allocate resources effectively and efficiently to ensure the store meets key performance indicators and profit and loss expectations.
  • Positively communicate and demonstrate the brand values, attitude and culture.
  • Create effective succession, recruiting, hiring and training plans, resulting in lower staff turnover.
  • Develop staff by evaluating and providing performance feedback and fostering a team environment.
  • Take clear accountability for training and execution in-store in all areas, including business, operations, sales/customer service, and visual merchandising to ensure all employees are trained in retail standards.
  • Perform timely completion of all recordkeeping associated with applicants, new hires, payroll, performance appraisals, counselling, disciplinary actions and employee separations.

Inventory Control:

  • Maintain correct store and event inventory control levels at all times.
  • Ensure all product inventory is accounted; includes, but not limited to receivers, transfers, sales, returns, cycle counts, etc
  • Maintain excellent communication with retail operations team to ensure that correct product mix is being implored and levels of inventory are not being over or under exaggerated.
  • Assume responsibility for store and product security and preventing theft.
  • Other duties as required by our fast-paced, dynamic environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND Experience:

  • College or University Degree with three (3) or more years of Retail management experience, preferably in the Sporting Apparel industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient retail knowledge – operational and selling skills.
  • Retail business management skills (fiscal and operational).
  • Proficient skills in coaching and talent management.
  • Ability to prioritize and allocate resources effectively.

IT Support Technician

Location: Ottawa, ON

The IT Support Technician will be responsible for end user support and management of service tickets through the online support desk, focusing on excellent customer service and knowledgeable solutions.  The role will require a broad exposure to many different IT systems that staff use on a daily basis as well as during live events at TD Place.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level end user support in a predominantly Windows environment with a small number of MAC devices.
  • Track support desk tickets from start to completion, ensuring all support calls are logged into the online support system.

Assisting with the delivery of treatment and rehabilitation; 
Shadowing procedures.

We have a position available for an Executive Chef role to manage the overall culinary direction for our food service operations with TD Place Stadium (Ottawa) location.

The Chef should be savvy with current food trends, have the passion for working hands-on as well as managing the overall menu development, international food stations, people resources, cost controls, QA, H&S and catering operations.   

Duties: 

  • All phases of food preparation, menu planning and development, operational planning and expenditures, budgeting, costing and maintaining proper inventory levels (FIFO).

  • Provide visible leadership, and ongoing mentoring and coaching of Back of House staff.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ Senior Sous Chef or above related experience.
  • Red Seal designation or equivalent experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting the Fitness Coach/Equipment Manager, the Intern will be responsible for daily functions such as:

  • The set up and breakdown of strength, activation, recovery and cool down sessions;
  • Sports administration responsibilities which include inventory, field equipment, laundry, etc. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Current enrollment in a relevant post-graduate program of study within a Canadian academic institution (Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Sports Management, etc.);

If you have experience or are interested in gaining experience in areas such as equipment management, sports operations, athletic warm-up and cool-down sessions, event management and guest relations, please indicate this on your cover letter.
