Controller

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for all aspects of OSEG’s day-to-day finance and accounting requirements. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the financial statements, including the books and records and reporting systems are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP;
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Financial Reporting in the preparation of the annual budget process and quarterly forecasting; cash management and cash flow modeling and projections;
  • Management of the overall revenue, contract management, AR and AP processes
  • The annual consolidated audit process and management;
  • Oversees month end close processes, analysis and action planning and key performance indicator monitoring;
  • Management of the internal controls systems which will include the need to develop, implement and monitor controls over sports and events ticketing, retail sales and contract management;
  • Tax planning and compliance
  • Ensure that adequate Insurance is maintained by the group of companies
  • Other duties as required by our fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Finance department including the maintenance of the general ledger and accounts payable/receivable sub ledgers

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND Experience:

  • Holds a CA/CPA designation A minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of experience including three (3) years of supervisory experience (i.e. outside of an accounting firm);
  • Experience using Microsoft Great-Plains considered an asset
  • A highly motivated individual who welcomingly accepts the challenges of building out a high-functioning team in an environment that is fun but demanding;
  • A customer and service-oriented individual who can also balance their responsibilities to bring discipline, structure and process to our organization;

Strength and Conditioning Coach

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Ottawa Fury FC is looking for a dynamic, self motivated, energetic and organized Strength and Conditioning Coach. The selected candidate will be required to travel with the team for training camp during the 18th to 25th of February 2018.

This position is a contract position commencing on January 22, 2018 through November 16, 2018.

What’s it about?:

  • Fitness testing and monitoring.
  • Oversee Pre-Training Activation, injury prevention and general field warmup.
  • Conditioning for non-dressing players at home.
  • Conditioning for non-traveling players while the team travels.
  • Designing and implementation of off-season S&C Program.
  • In-season Conditioning/injury prevention of uninjured players.
  • Communicate with AT daily regarding training modification with injured players during RTP.
  • Assist with on field return to sport.
  • Assist in mentorship and supervision of interns.
  • Maintain records of program design.
  • Organize and maintain fitness equipment.
  • Other tasks as directed by the Head Coach.

What you will need :

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in strength and conditioning with professional, university or high-performance athletes;
  • Experience working with a sports medicine team;
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or other related discipline;
  • Masters in Exercise Physiology preferred;
  • CSCS-NSCA or CEP-CSEP Certification preferred;
  • Taping experience preferred;
  • First-aid CPR-C;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and valid passport;
  • Self-starter that shows initiative;
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written);
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Willing to roll-up sleeves as necessary with a positive attitude;
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of climates and weather conditions;

Equipment Manager & Visiting Team Liaison Officer (11 month contract)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Reporting to the Head Coach of Ottawa Fury FC, the Equipment Manager & Visiting Team Liaison Officer will be responsible for all matters relating to the management of equipment and apparel for the Ottawa Fury FC USL team, and will act as the main point of contact for the team when the team is travelling.

This position is a contract position commencing on January 2 through November 30th each year.

What’s it about?:

  • Day to day management of all player, training and game day equipment needs;
  • Procuring, managing and maintaining equipment inventories;
  • Managing the storage of equipment and apparel;
  • Overseeing the fitting and adjustments needed for uniforms and equipment for the team;
  • Responsible for proper laundering of all apparel;
  • Maintenance and general cleanliness of locker room, equipment room and other player areas;
  • Responsible for the transportation of all required equipment and apparel to all home and away games, training sessions, club events, etc.;
  • Responsible for the inspection and repair of damaged equipment or apparel;
  • Travel with the team on all away games;
  • As the visiting team liaison, act as the point of contact for the team for all away games to resolve any issues that arise (flights, hotel, game day, meals) while the team is travelling; and
  • Other tasks as directed by the Head Coach.

What you will need :

  • Experience as an equipment manager with knowledge of the game of soccer is desirable;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and valid passport;
  • Self-starter that shows initiative;

Conversion Crew

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Title: Conversion Crew – Team Member

Department: Stadium Operations

Number of Openings: Up to 15

Hourly rate: $14.75

Status: Seasonal Part-Time

Purpose
     
Reporting into TD Place Operations, you are a member of the conversion/changeover crew. Duties required converting the arena from hockey mode, to concert, or other event modes (and back) and converting the stadium from football mode to soccer mode, to concert or other event modes (and back). In addition, you will ensure that any event preparation/setup required for shows or sporting events are to run safely and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities

Arena:
⦁    Converting arena for event set-ups as needed. 
⦁    Set up and tear down of materials for events like tables, flooring, stage, chairs etc. 
⦁    Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for event needs.
⦁    Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other PPE at all times required. 
⦁    Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment. 
⦁    Other duties as assigned.

Stadium:
⦁    Converting stadium for event set-ups as needed. 
⦁    Set up and tear down of materials for events like goal nets and posts, fencing, signage etc. 
⦁    Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for outdoor event needs.
⦁    Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other PPE at all times required. 
⦁    Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment. 
⦁    Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Experience
⦁    Any labour experience is an asset.
⦁    MUST have CSA approved steel toe work boots. 
⦁    Ability to do heavy lifting and carry up to 50 pounds. 
⦁    Demonstrate familiarity with tools and maintenance equipment. 
⦁    Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member. 
⦁    Ability to work varied schedule including days, evenings, overnights and weekends.

Working Conditions
⦁    Work requires significant physical effort, walking (including stairs), and lifting heavy weights. 
⦁    Work requires utilizing tools and equipment that could cause physical injury if not handled and operated following safety practices and procedures. 
⦁    Required to follow WHMIS and provincial Health and Safety requirements.
