Operations Supervisor

Location: Ottawa, On

Love events?  Love setting-up events?  We may have the role for you!

As a member of the Operations Team, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the set-up TD Place’s arena and stadium for a variety of events and manages the operations staff in completing projects related to maintenance to help ensure proper and safe operation of the facility on a daily basis.

What’s the role?

  • Manage the set-up the stadium and arena for a variety of events.
  • Coordinate various projects related to facility maintenance, upgrades, etc.
  • Develop conversion plans with event operations staff, based on event requirements and ensures completion of tasks in tight time frames.
  • Identification of personnel issues and developing possible solutions to such issues. 
  • Document damaged or needed equipment repairs, as well as informing facilities management and appropriate personnel so that repairs can be appropriately scheduled; acts as troubleshooter for minor repairs as needed.
  • Ensure storage warehouses are properly organized on a nightly basis, and all department inventory (i.e. tools, hardware, etc.) is accounted for.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with department staff, and completes appropriate documentation for submission.
  • Assist in hiring appropriate staff. 
  • Maintain the highest level of expectations, quality control, and attention to detail required by the facility, as well as all tenants of the building and customers whom use the arena and other facilities throughout the building.
  • Participate in the physical tasks of conversion and other projects along with the operations conversion crew.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

What’s needed ?

  • High school diploma with five (5) years of conversion experience;
  • Three (3) years of management experience;
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and standards such as workplace health and safety;
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings and specifications;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and with tact and to prepare accurate reports and documents on activities;
  • Self-motivated, energetic team player able to deal with an extremely fast paced environment;
  • Sound organizational, coordinating, time-management, and personal interface skills;
  • Familiarity with football, soccer, hockey and events requirements;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Flexibility with work schedule- nights, weekends, and holidays;
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Payroll Coordinator

What are the main responsibilites of this role ?

  • Process a multi-faceted biweekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Compile, enter, and audit payroll transactions including Time & Attendance.
  • Prepare calculations for payroll adjustments, terminations, and severance payments.
  • Prepare bi-weekly, monthly, statutory/legislative, and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders to reconcile payroll accounts and ensure accurate allocation.
  • Reconcile month end and year end statutory obligations including preparation of ROE’s, monthly remittances, annual returns, tax forms and T2200’s.
  • Maintain, review and update payroll processes and procedures as required.
  • Respond within the established service standard to queries and requests for payroll related information from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that due consideration is given to privacy and confidentiality requirement.
  • Additional HR administrative duties as assigned.

What qualifications are required ?                                                               

  • Post Secondary diploma/degree in related field/discipline.
  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification and a member of the Canadian Payroll Association.
  • Minimum 3-5 year’s payroll experience; combination of education and practical work experience.
  • Well versed in employment standards and income tax laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Proven experience with ADP Workforce Now Payroll and Time & Attendance modules.
  • Proficiency in reconciling general ledger accounts related to payroll.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft® Office Suite skills, particularly with Word and Excel®.
  • High level of customer service standards.
  • Diplomacy, exceptional interpersonal skills, a sense of responsibility, and professionalism.
  • Detail and goal-oriented, has the flexibility to deal with multiple and changing priorities while focused on customer service and quality.
  • Ability to manage own time and workload, juggling conflicting priorities, establish priorities, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and work with minimal supervision.

Part-Time Operations Crew

Operations Crew Needed!

  • Status: Seasonal Part-Time

Reporting into TD Place Operations, you are a member of the conversion/changeover crew. Duties required converting the arena from hockey mode, to concert, or other event modes (and back) and converting the stadium from football mode to soccer mode, to concert or other event modes (and back). In addition, you will ensure that any event preparation/setup required for shows or sporting events are to run safely and efficiently.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Arena:
    • Converting arena for event set-ups as needed.
    • Set up and tear down of materials for events like tables, flooring, stage, chairs etc.
    • Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for event needs.
    • Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other PPE at all times required.
    • Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of department equipment.

  • Stadium:

    • Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for outdoor event needs.

    • Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
    • Any labour experience is an asset.
    • MUST have CSA approved steel toe work boots.
    • Must have G Classed Driver’s License if driving a motorized vehicle on-site.
    • Ability to do heavy lifting and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Demonstrate familiarity with tools and maintenance equipment.
    • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
    • Ability to work varied schedule including days, evenings, overnights and weekends.
  • Working Conditions

Ticket Operations Assistant

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Reporting to the Director, Ticket Operations the Ticket Operations Assistant will assist with order processing, fulfillment, distribution while providing excellent customer service to our fans.

Duties & Responsibilities    

  • Responds to general telephone inquiries about TD Place and direct customer to the appropriate individual.
  • Monitors and responds to customer service voice mails (French and English).
  • Responsible for opening and closing the Box Office.
  • Ensures that the Box Office is clean and organized.
    • Maintains will call
  • Processes all walk up sales for single game sports tickets and concerts using the Spectra Ticketing System.
  • Oversees the ticketing process for the following:
    • Staff Tickets
    • 67’s Billet Tickets
    • Donation Requests
    • Ticket Exchanges/Vouchers
  • Works with sales representatives on the following:
    • Billing Plans
    • Underpaid Accounts
    • Updating Account Information
    • Projects as assigned
  • Daily Cash Reconciliation on Cash Float for Daily Transactions.
  • Ships packages to clients via courier.
  • Assists with game day operations, as required.
  • Assists with any other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND Experience:

  • Post-Secondary degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent relationship building and people skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external clients at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional telephone manner.

OSEG Foundation 50/50 Seller

Together, with our coaches and players from the Ottawa REDBLACKS, Ottawa 67’s and Ottawa Fury FC – the OSEG Foundation will invest in local programs and initiatives that get more kids off the sidelines and into the game.

Job Summary

The OSEG Foundation is looking to hire high-energy motivated sellers to join our 50/50 Electronic Raffle sales team. 50/50 raffles take place at all REDBLACKS home games, where one lucky winner receives 50% of the jackpot and the remaining 50% is directed to the OSEG Foundation to support ongoing charitable efforts.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Actively sell, handle and distribute 50/50 tickets within TD Place either at a stationary kiosk or as a roaming sales representative during and prior to REDBLACKS home games.
  • Effectively engage REDBLACKS fans with the 50/50 raffle and the OSEG Foundation
  • Effectively meet and exceed sales goals
  • Accurately reconcile sales with cash receipts
  • Clearly communicate with customers
  • Answer general inquiries about 50/50 program

Qualifications and Skills
