105th Grey Cup Festival announces free programming featuring performers from across Our Nation

The 105th Grey Cup Festival, presented by Shaw, will be a true celebration of our country with 100% Canadian content that will animate the various stages of the Festival from Thursday, November 23rd through game day on Sunday, November 26th.

One of the free programming elements features over 50 artists and performers coming from across the country offering a truly diverse Festival program. From the rock and soul rhythms of Ottawa’s The Lionyls, to the Canadiana sounds Cape Breton’s Pretty Archie; from the intoxicating musical mix of Indigenous Music Award winner Kristi Lane Sinclair, to the energetic LGS (Le Groupe Swing); beats will be resonating across Lansdowne and fans will be kept warm and entertained.

The Bumper to Bumper outdoor stage in the Nissan Titan Street Festival will feature family-friendly entertainment and will be the main attraction on the Festival Family Day on Friday, November 24th with performances from High Steppin Daddy, The Daydreamers, Erica Dee, Luv to Groove, School of Rock, Cody Coyote and young sensation Andrew Waines. Friday evening’s street festival events will conclude with a silent disco sure to delight teens and parents alike. The Bumper to Bumper stage will literally be bumping throughout the weekend, with continuous performances Saturday (11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and before the Grey Cup game on Sunday (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.).

Free live entertainment will run throughout the day inside the Aberdeen Pavilion, before the RNation Party, presented by Budweiser, gets kicked up a notch in the evening. Fans will be treated to a variety of live performances from bands and artists from across the nation, including Terence Jack, The Winston Band, The Dudes and get the chance to dance into the night to the expert beats of our late-night DJs.

On Sunday, the party moves to the Great Lawn, where all game ticket holders will be treated to a rocking tailgate party with live entertainment starting at 2pm.

In addition to the music, fans are invited to attend another crowd favourite of Grey Cup week: Cheer Extravaganza. Held in The Arena at TD Place on Saturday, November 25th, this event brings cheer and dance teams from across the CFL to perform their choreographed routines from the 2017 season. This is a free event filled with energy, back-flips, high-kicks, tumbles and tosses where fans of all ages are encouraged to show their colours.

Throughout the week, the Family Fun Zone, presented by Canada 150, will be the place to be for families looking to participate in fun, interactive, outdoor activities. Kids of all ages can take part in a variety of football-themed stations, get their face painted, run into their favourite player, meet mascots and catch various cheer team performances, and so much more! All for free.

And not to forget Grey Cup Festival staples like the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum, radio row and the ever-popular Calgary Grey Cup Committee free pancake breakfast that will once again delight fans and festival goers.

The excitement begins in 22 days when the Grey Cup arrives in the nation’s capital on November 21st to kick-off the Grey Cup Festival presented by Shaw. The week-long festival will feature more than 30 free and ticketed events – headlined by the Grey Cup Festival Concert Series presented by TD, the 2017 Shaw CFL Awards and Rev-Up Party, Gridiron Gals event, Family Fun Zone and the ever-popular RNation Party – offering something for everyone.
