Curling at TD Place

Bring the World to Ottawa!

Calling all curling fans! The Ottawa Valley Curling Association, Ottawa Tourism and the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) are putting in a bid to host the World Men’s Curling Championship at TD Place, in Ottawa from April 3-11, 2021. Below are the answers to every question you might have about the process!

Is the World Men’s Curling Championships confirmed for Ottawa?

The 2021 World Men’s Curling Championships have not been awarded yet by Curling Canada. By demonstrating a strong level of local support, we improve our chances of bringing the World Men’s Curling Championships to Ottawa.

What are the dates of the 2021 World Men’s Curling Championships?

April 3-11, 2021.

What does my $100.00 deposit guarantee?

Curling fans who make the $100.00 deposit will be guaranteed first opportunity to purchase a full event package when they go on sale. The deposit cannot be applied to any other ticket package.

How much will the full event package cost?

The exact cost will not be finalized until the bid is awarded in the fall of 2019. Based on previous World Men’s Curling Championships, a full event package is anticipated to be in the range of $450-$500.

Is there a maximum number of $100.00 deposits that I can make?

A maximum of eight (8) deposits that can be made by anyone at one time.

Is my deposit refundable?

All deposits will be refunded in the event that the bid is unsuccessful and Ottawa is not awarded the 2021 World Men’s Curling Championships.

I am an Ottawa 67’s season ticket holder; will I be guaranteed my seats?

No, due to the fact that the building configuration for curling is different than for hockey, we cannot guarantee your seats will be available. In the event that your seats are not available, you will be offered first choice of comparable seats/locations.

What does a full event package entitle me to?

A full event package will reserve your seat for all 21 draws, including the semi final, bronze medal and gold medal games, as well as full access to OC Transpo when you present your game day ticket.

Additionally, it will grant you access to the world famous Patch at the Aberdeen Pavilion where there will be food, beverages and entertainment.

If the bid is not successful, when will I receive my deposit refund?

100% of your deposit will be automatically refunded.

Why are you accepting deposits before the Bid is actually awarded?

Deposits are a criteria required by Curling Canada to show community support in hosting an event. In order to improve our chances of winning the bid, we want to maximize the number of deposits made in order to demonstrate to Curling Canada our interest in hosting in 2021.

When will the remaining balance for each full event package be due?

Once the bid has been awarded, the Local Organizing Committee will communicate directly the event ticketing plan, including payment options and schedule.

When and how will I get my tickets?

We are unable to confirm a delivery date and method at this time, however the Local Organizing Committee will contact all fans that made a deposit.

When will you stop accepting deposits?

For your deposit to be included as part of the Bid, it must be made by May 25th, but there is no end date at this point to stop collecting deposits.
